All My Gadgets part 2

Three years ago I posted All My Gadgets just because I didn't have any idea of what to post. So now, I just do a sort of inventory and do a part 2 of the post.

1. Macbook - if you looked at my old post this was there. This is now 5 years old and still works fine for my requirements which is basically to surf the net. Battery still last about an hour an a full charge which takes 4 hours. Since I just use it at home and as a back up for my work laptop this works fine. Having 2 laptops actually saved me a couple of time when my work laptop conked out for some reason (2x due to hard drive failure - it's been ok for almost 2 years now).

2. HP Mini 311 - this replaced the Compaq laptop. I just used that Compaq for less than a year and it was replaced by this HP which is 3 years old. This was issued by the office December 2009. I had to replace the hard drive twice in October 2010 (covered by warranty) and March 2011 (not covered by warranty). I guess the HP hard drive sucked because the HD has been working fine since its last replacement.

This is my work laptop so I use it and carry it around everywhere. Given than I work from home and I'm always mobile this laptop is quite sturdy. I just had to replace the battery last Dec 26 since the old battery just lasted 30 minutes. Overall though this works for me and it hasn't conked out so I'll use it until it does - hopefully it gives me a few more years. I don't like changing laptops often - it's a waste of money to change gadgets in general.

3. Canon S2 - I used it to take the picture so it's not included. But I've had the camera for 6 years now and it still works. The view finder doesn't work when flat on the camera though but everything works fine.

4. Ipod Touch 2nd generation - it was new then, it's old now. Works for me. So, it's still in use mainly for music and my exercise (walking).

5. Mobile phone - I have a dual sim Nokia which cost about Php1,500 works very well for me. I had to buy this because my phone the Nokia 6220 died on me last February.

I got myself a Galaxy Note last May since I needed it for work but I actually just use it as a tablet. My sim though is a Freedom Plan from Smart where I hardy pay anything a month. Just got the line a couple of months back though.

6. Mares Dive computer - not in picture, but I still have it. Still works fine and I really find it useful when diving. It's a necessity when diving now - I forgot it once and I didn't enjoy my dives...I think I used up more air...

7. Sun Broadband - turned out I didn't need the Smart pre-paid broadband because Sun was quite reliable. I think it expired or something. I'm quite happy with Sun even though signal has sometimes been wonky.

9. TPLink wifi routers - I have 2 in the picture but I actually have 3 routers - 1 for the car, 1 for the house and a mobile router with battery I can carry around. This is because of my work which is essentially working from home but I'm usually out on meeting sa about 2x a week. being connected is essential so I need these. it's overkill but I though my router in the car died so I bought a replacement (only to find out I was able to fix the old router).

10. My laptop bag and camera bag are still the same.

11. X-mini speakers - this is 3 years old as well. This was supposed to be for client but we just took it hehe

I MIGHT target an Ipad Mini but I can't afford it yet or it's not practical for me to buy.

So there! Happy New Year!
